Miscellany @ New Art Studio opened on Culture night showcasing work by 10 artists working to the same size  in various media ranging from monoprints to Digital Prints. The show explores many different themes ranging from Niall Wright's view of the Irish landscape, these images of the bare bog-lands give a moody atmospheric that draws the viewer in. Aidan McDermott's playful use of symbolic imagery tells a almost child like narrative in a traditional painting you would associate with works from the Bolognese School

MOB FANDANGO Winners of 2009's Rising Stars Competition and headliners of 2010's prestigious Soul Festival, Mob Fandango are a breath of fresh air to the Irish music scene. 6 October – 19 November 2011 Reception, Wednesday 5 October, 6 - 8 pm Kerlin Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new paintings by Sean Scully. The internationally acclaimed artist will present a body of new work, most notably, the Cut Ground series of paintings. In these paintings Scully moves away from the all over composition of the Wall of Light series into an arena where the structures are more irregular and unpredictable. Whilst many factors are simultaneously brought to bear in Scully’s multilayered paintings, undoubtedly the Cut Ground series reveal a number of influences connected with the earth and it’s topography. The cutting into the peat bog; the fat and thin lines of the farmed landscape as viewed from an aerial perspective, with all their corners and edges; the cracks and fissures in the earths surfaces. Dublin Contemporary 2011 is Ireland's International Art Exhibition featuring over 114 Irish and international artists. Taking place from September 6th until October 31st, Dublin Contemporary 2011 it's very ambitious for Dublin to hold. Work of more than 114 Irish and international artists   will transform the city. This will be an amazing showcase of visual art, innovation, creativity and imagination. Dublins Art Scene is fighting back against the financial tide that has hit the world hard. Theme The title and theme of Dublin Contemporary 2011 is Terrible Beauty—Art, Crisis, Change & The Office of Non-Compliance . Taken from William Butler Yeats’ famous poem “Easter, 1916”. The Exhibition is held across several sites in Dublin ranging from the Earlsfort Terrace exhibition site, The Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane, The National Gallery of Ireland and The Royal Hibernian Academy .

The content of the work derives from two distinct but not dissimilar sources. The first source is Emily Dickinson's poem 'I heard a fly buzz when I died' which describes the physical act of dying punctuated by a fly buzzing around the room. The second source is the psychological phenomenon of depersonalisation which can be described as the feeling of being divorced from ones own personal physicality. Both of these sources depict a splitting between the physical and psychological self. The work attempts to manifest this intangible sense of splitting in a number of ways. The video works illustrate the desire to regain control of the body - to become real/whole again - to reintegrate the physical and the psychological. The installations represent an attempt to become 're-grounded' in reality while the fly from Emily Dickinson's poem represents reality in all its mundanity. Little green street gallery will be opening its doors this Friday september the 9th at 7pm for everyone to have a little taste of what the irish art scene has to offer. We have received so many inspiring submissions from various established and emerging artists across ireland and were proud to offer our walls to these people. The opening night will be september the 9th 7pm - 10pm, with live music and some complimentary drinks we encourage everyone to B.Y.O.B just in case though. The exhibition itself will then run until the 14th of september. the gallery is open from 10-6 monday to friday and 12-3 on saturday.
